About MDS (Running with cancer)

Running With Cancer is a volunteer organization who would like to continue the advocacy of Amor Baylosis, a cancer patient with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia who recently passed away last January 2017.

RWC is aimed to connect caring and concerned individuals to cancer patients who needs care, financial assistance and advice. The organization’s main goal is to raise funds for cancer patients thru participation and organizing its own running event in the sporting community. Its second goal, is to create awareness of the disease and be a platform of information between patients and institutions who could help them.

The Weeping Runner, in his participation in the Marathon des Sables, is aiming to raise at least AED 50,000. He will not, in any way, receive donation for the beneficiary organization.

Donations will go directly to the beneficiary organization – the Friends of Cancer Patients.

Friends of Cancer Patients charity is a non-profit organization registered at the UAE Ministry of Social Affairs under the ministerial decree No. 427 for the year 2013. FoCP was founded in September 1999 under the directives and patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah, Founder and Patron of the Friends of Cancer Patients society, International Ambassador of the World Cancer Declaration for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and International Ambassador for Childhood Cancer for UICC and Founder.

FoCP is committed to helping cancer patients and their families get through the long and arduous journey of cancer treatment, irrespective of their nationality, gender, age, religion or ethnicity. FoCP provides a broad spectrum of financial and emotional support.
